SESTA Manager
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated leader to manage our Palmerston North / Wairarapa SESTA (Specialised School Transport Assistance) operation.
SESTA is a highly rewarding and community service that we provide for the Ministry of Education, this service ensures the safe transport of approximately 160 students daily from their front door to school, and home again. The role is also responsible for coordinating our UCOL student transport services delivered in both regions.
Located at our centrally situated Palmerston North branch, you will collaborate closely with our drivers, schools, parents, caregivers and the Ministry of Education to deliver an exceptional service to our local communities.
The role:
Be the management hub of our student transport operation overseeing our services in Palmerston North and the Wairarapa.
Managing and supporting our team of SESTA and UCOL drivers.
Planning, rostering, and implementing runs to ensure optimum use of resources.
Administrative support and payroll duties.
Driver Recruitment.
Regular performance monitoring of drivers & vehicles.
Ensuring overall compliance and adherence to legal requirements and contractual agreements.
About you:
Proven experience in a leadership and operational role to manage a team across two regions.
Must be able to travel to engage with key stakeholders and driving teams.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
A drive for delivering a high level of customer service and safe specialised transport.
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
Tech-savvy with a willingness to adapt to new systems.
Full NZ Driver's Licence for 2 years or longer (Passenger Endorsement required but we can assist in obtaining this).
